ABOUT MY DESIGNS

All good design comes from proper planning. Knowing a project's constraints leads to efficient, cost effective, feasible, and sustainable designs. Using a one-size-fits-all approach isn't just inefficient, its detrimental. I start by analyzing your project needs and coming up with a few good options for how to proceed.

Most clients want to maximize their website's ROI (return on investment) and lower their maintenance costs. I specialize in content-management-systems which allow clients to update a website's content on their own using methods as simple as typing a document or uploading a photo.

I'm most familiar with Wordpress, but have worked with dozens of content management systems, including developing a proprietary and custom in-house CMS with a large internet company. If you're looking for an e-commerce system, I recommend Magento. It's robust feature set can't be beaten. That said, there are literally hundreds of content management systems out there, and each has its own raison d'etre

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Santa Barbara, CA. I graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a degree in design, and I decided to stay in San Luis Obispo. As a person with an eye for detail, the design profession seemed like a perfect match for me from an early age. I love to create and I can't imagine doing anything else with my life.

I have over 15 years experience working on websites, from the early days of table-based design to the more recent trends of ajax, jquery, css3, html5, flash, and mobile websites. I enjoy discussing modern design trends, learning new techniques, and figuring out how things are built and work. Reading design and technology news on a daily basis is an important part of my life. Design is everywhere, from the computer in front of you to the car you drive and the clothes you wear. Someone, somewhere, designed and created those things.

ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

This TEMPORARY website was created by hand in very little time as a placeholder while I slowly find time to design a new one. It is as minimalist and to the point as possible. Feature creep is easy and minimalism is hard.

This website is currently running on my customized web-server platform based on Linux and Virtual Machines.
